This year, I was so fortunate to win six awards in the Amateur Landscape and Nature category which had over 2300 entries. The gold medal winning image, Darkness in the Dunes, also placed in the top 50 images and is published in the Amateur Top 50 list on the Epson Pano Awards website. The three silver medal image locations were from Yellowstone, New Zealand, and Nova Scotia,. The two Bronze medal images were photographed in Yellowstone.

One of Katherine's award winning TPOTY images will be featured at the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) Retrospective Exhibition to be held at the Spazju Kreattiv, St James Cavalier, Valletta, Malta, from September 8th-October 8th.
Working as part of collaborative, Katherine had 3 images on display and for sale at Markham House from May 14-June 24 as part of the Contact Photography Festival in Toronto.
The Toronto Focal Forum is a group of print-makers that meet twice monthly to share their work, ideas and camaraderie.
With their collaborative photo series, Time Passages, photographers Katherine Keates & Avi Cohen have shown us that it is possible to slowdown enough to explore the seemingly mundane aspects of our daily lives.
In their opinion, the practice of being more aware will make you a better photographer as well as a better person, an individual more in touch with fellow human beings.
“In our daily lives, we pass through doors, walk through corridors, peer through windows, all without taking notice. There’s beauty everywhere, but we’re passing it by." Avi Cohen & Katherine Keates
The evening’s entertainment will include a live and silent auction of photography, live music, disco-inspired nibbles, cash bar of fine wine and beer and a photo booth. Put on your 70’s glam style and we’ll see you there!
